It is a cake made from fruits, dried nuts, candied fruits and spices. In United Kingdom some fruitcake are decorated with icing. Fruitcake is used to make in weddings or in Christmas party. The origin of the recipe is Rome. The Ancients of Rome used to add pomegranate seeds, pine nuts and raisins that were mixed into barley mash. Although it is not a original British fruitcake.   • Flour 200 gm

  • Eggs 4

  • Sugar 200 gm

  • Red and green candied fruits 1 cup

  • Nuts 1/2 cup

  • Baking powder 2 tsp

  • Butter 200 gm

  • Vanilla essence few drops



  1. Take a bowl add egg, butter and sugar and beat it from electric beater.

  2. Then add flour, baking powder and vanilla essence and mix it well.

  3. Now add candied fruit and nuts.

  4. Grease the pan and pour batter into the pan.

  5. Put the pan in pre-heated oven on 200 C for 40 minutes and bake the fruitcake.

  6. Fruitcake is ready to serve.
